Properties: Density(water=1):4.8, Melting point:1185 ℃. Solubility: decomposed by  aqua regia, hot sulfuric acid, nitric acid, insoluble in dilute acid and water. Molybdenum disulfide is stable in air or oxygen at normal conditions.

Application: Manufacturing molybdenum compounds, solid lubricants. MoS2 is used as additives in lubricating grease, friction materials, plastic, rubber, nylon, PTFE.
