By inhibiting thromboxane synthetase, reducing thromboxane A, (TXA2), and promoting the formation of prostacyclin (PGl2), to antagonize platelet aggregation and cerebral vasospasm, and almost no effect on other arachidic acid metabolizing enzymes such as cyclooxygenase. It is used for cerebral vasospasm after subarachnoid hemorrhage and cerebral ischemia accompanied by cerebral spasm and improvement of movement disorder accompanied by acute cerebral thrombosis.
